HP Smart Plug-in (SPI) for Veritas Cluster Server

OTL Software proudly announces the release of the Veritas Cluster Server Smart Plug-in (SPI) for HP Operations Manager.

"Monitoring Veritas Clusters is extremely important but often misunderstood and undervalued by most organisations." said Nigel Kelly, Channel and Relationships Manager at OTL. "We have maintained a strong partnership with Veritas/Symantec for over nine years, and have an in - depth understanding of the benefits Cluster Server brings to users. Applications will seamlessly fail from one machine to another with applications and users not even noticing if a server dies in the computer room.

The Veritas Cluster Server SPI not only detects faults as they occur, but proactively ensures required network and standby machines are functioning as they should so failovers will succeed when they are needed.

Without monitoring, the Veritas Clustered environment can actually create problems because faults remain undetected and don't get reported. That leads to a loss of redundancy in the High Availability environment and exposes users and applications to unexpected system failures if anything else goes wrong."

�This development expands OTL Software's HP Operations Manager monitoring capabilities and is another step toward delivery of the full suite of Veritas High Availability Monitoring solutions. We expect to release Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas File System Smart Plug-ins before April 2009� said Kelly.

OTL Software plans to expand its Smart Plug-in product portfolio and grow the partnership with Hewlett-Packard and its resellers throughout 2009.
